What is an ISBN Number?

An ISBN is a special code that books have, like a secret ID just for them! It stands for "International Standard Book Number." Think of it like a fingerprint for books—it helps people know exactly which book they’re talking about, even if there are other books with similar titles. Every book has its own unique ISBN, so it's a little like giving each book its own name tag.

How to Find the ISBN Number

If you want to find the ISBN number on a book, look on the back cover. There’s usually a box with a barcode, and the ISBN is written either above or below it. It might look like a long line of numbers. Sometimes, the ISBN is also written on the page right at the front of the book. So, it’s easy to find if you know where to look!

If you can’t find it in the book, simply Google the author, title, and ask for the ISBN; it should be out there.
